Carlson Beck is pleased to announce that John Reid has joined the firm as a Partner. John has over 25 years of experience in the nonprofit field, with a concentration in international relief and development, human services, and the arts. His career includes extensive experience at the CIO, COO, and CEO levels with some of the world’s leading nonprofit organizations. He taught “Strategic Management of Nonprofit Organizations” and “Leadership and Ethics” at the Arizona State University Master of Nonprofit Management program.

Sally Carlson, Managing Partner of Carlson Beck, said, “John is a perfect fit for our team. His background, experience, and depth of understanding in the philanthropic and nonprofit worlds ensures our clients and candidates have someone who truly understands their challenges in filling key leadership positions. He has been in the trenches for over 25 years and knows firsthand what it takes to build a successful team. John’s approach to and appreciation of exemplary leadership perfectly aligns with what Carlson Beck is all about for its clients.”

When asked why he was excited to make the transition from hands-on nonprofit management to executive search, John responded, “After many years navigating through the day-to-day challenges of managing large, complex nonprofit organizations, I am more convinced than ever that the key to success is having the right people in the right positions. I have spent many years focused on building high-performing teams and have clearly seen that if you have the right team in place, coupled with excellent leadership at the management and Board levels, the sky is the limit in terms of what you can accomplish. I love seeing an ideal match of skills, mission, and experience come together and then watching great organizations meeting their goals and expanding their reach. Joining Sally and the team at Carlson Beck seems like a natural next step and I am very excited to launch into this phase of my career.”
