Debra Vinikour

Debra’s experience in nonprofit executive search, along with her background in attorney recruiting and career consulting, informs her work as a Principal at Carlson Beck. Debra began her professional career as an attorney, representing both corporate and nonprofit clients. With an affinity for building client relationships, she became a legal recruiter, placing experienced attorneys in law firms and corporate law departments. In her next role as a career consultant, she focused on the other side of the search process to help candidates identify marketable skills and strengths and link them to fulfilling jobs. She leveraged her search experience and early legal representation of mission-driven organizations into nonprofit executive search, in sectors including arts and culture, STEM and arts education, and environmental conservation. Debra received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law, and her B.S. in Communication Studies from Northwestern University.

Community Commitment: Debra is a dedicated volunteer at Jewish Vocational Services, providing guidance on résumés and job search matters. She has also raised thousands of dollars for nonprofit organizations by participating in long-distance bicycle rides and runs.

Personal Passions: In addition to running and cycling, Debra enjoys reading, playing the piano and spending time with her husband and their 100-plus pound Great Pyrenees dog.
